- Total UK Cheese consumption has been on the increase in recent years with the main contributor being the use of cheese as an ingredient in ready meals. With more and more people eating away from home cheese consumption has increased and this trend is expected to continue.
- Ready meal sales in the UK have surpassed the £1bn per annum mark with chilled food sales growing on average +7% a year.
- There is an on going decline in the preparation of meals cooked from scratch at home, with as few as 8% cooked in this traditional way.
