Cheese for Ingredients / Varieties
Joseph Heler produces a range of key Ingredient products that are designed to appeal specifically to the manufacturers of Ready Meals. From a basic Cheddar to Continental style cheese, such as Gruyere, products have been engineered to provide a better solution to standard variants.
The Joseph Heler Parkes dairy is dedicated to the manufacture of Ingredients cheese and is a purpose built, stand-alone facility with the latest technology installed.
Cheddar
Ultra Strength White Cheddar Style has been developed specifically as an ingredient cheese for a wide variety of applications. It has the physical and functional attributes of Cheddar cheese but with a full strong cheesy flavour. The benefit to the processor is that the volume required will not be as great as a standard mature Cheddar, thus reducing the costs.
Low Fat, Half Fat & Reduced Fat Cheese
Low Fat Cheese was pioneered at the dairy and enables the Company to produce Low Fat variants of most of their current range, where applicable. The dairy was given the accolade of the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2001 for its work on Low Fat cheese.
3% Fat Cheddar is a genuine low fat hard-pressed cheese with physical and functional attributes of full fat cheddar but with only 3% fat. Low Fat versions of Red Leicester, Coloured Cheddar, Mozzarella, Provolone & Italian Style cheese are also available. We also provide a Low Sodium version of the 3% Fat Cheddar.
Half Fat Cheese (between 14% and 17% fat) as well as Reduced Fat Cheese (21%) is also available to cater for the growing demand for healthier cheese without sacrificing flavour.
Low Fat Cheddar Cheese
Low Fat Cheese was pioneered in the Laurels dairy and is now a popular choice for both consumers and the ingredient market. The cheese delivers all the flavour of a standard fat product but contains only 3% fat. The Low Fat technology also enables Joseph Heler Cheese to produce Low Fat variants of most of our current range, where applicable.
Continental Style Range
Alongside our range of British territorial cheese & Cheddar, Joseph Heler Cheese produces a range of continental style cheese.
These product have been developed for the ingredients market to provide customers with products that deliver all the flavour & texture characteristics of a speciality cheese made on the continent, at highly competitive rates.
An additional benefit to using Joseph Heler's continental style cheese over a cheese imported from Europe is they are also suitable for vegetarians as they are made using non-animal rennet.
Our varieties include;
Italian Style: A ripened hard vegetarian cheese of a straw yellow colour with a distinctive Parmesan style flavour profile.
Provolone: Grates well and has a strong spicy flavour. Supple and smooth and available in either mild or mature.
Gruyere: A ripened hard cheese of an ivory to light yellow colour with a distinctive Gruyere-type flavour profile.
Sbrinz: Not as strong as Parmesan but a great alternative.
