Cheesemaking / Milk Supply
Cheshire is famous for its milk production and the salt plains of the county are a key attribute in the make up of Cheshire cheese.
Joseph Heler uses over 160 million litres of milk a year to produce 16,000 tonnes of cheese.
Milk is collected from 150 local farms, all within a 45- mile radius of the creamery, plus its own farm of pedigree Holstein cows and delivered fresh every day to the creamery for manufacturing into cheese.
Our cheesemakers then combine the latest plant and equipment with their time-honoured skills to perfect the technical craft of cheesemaking and transform the milk into one of the cheese varieties that Joseph Heler are renowned for.
