In-Store Support

Providing our customers with products is the relatively easy piece of the jigsaw, encouraging the consumer to make a purchase is the tricky bit!
Joseph Heler recognises that their job does not stop as soon as the cheese leaves the dairy, there is still a lot of work to do in assisting retailers in increasing their sales to the public.
Our Retail Merchandising Manager Kathy Gardner has retail experience behind the counter and a thorough knowledge of consumer preferences. The role is sympathetic to both retailers and consumers needs and is well aware of the importance of reducing wastage and hitting weekly targets.
The role as the interface between the buyer, supermarket staff and the consumer has meant that we have established firm relationships with retailers to ensure cheese sales are maximised.
Grocery retailers in the UK have seen a distinct rise in overall cheese sales due to the service we provide which includes advice on the layout of the deli and chilled fixture, intensive staff training and being available to offer sampling and recommendations to consumers.
"We advise staff to arrange the cheeses on the basis of price, quality and locality which often involves ensuring that the regional cheese is well positioned. I also ensure that staff are knowledgeable about the use and flavours of cheese right across the board."
The staffs training programmes take place either in store or at Joseph Heler's sophisticated dairy in Cheshire.
We always encourage deli staff to visit the dairy as it provides them with a much greater insight into the production process giving them more confidence to make recommendations to consumers.
