DEPARTMENT MANAGER
A vacancy has arisen within our Operations Team in the role of Further Processing Department Manager, the role will focus on the following responsibilities across all secondary processing departments including Prepack, Cutting, Grating, Blending & Waxing:
· Promote and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times, the department is fully compliant with Company H&S, Fire procedures, and all legislative food safety requirements including all CCP’s, and all Company Policies
· Deliver all departmental KPI’s
· Champion best practices in all departmental operations, to ensure the department can meet the companies growing demands.
· Oversee the input required data into the KPI capture system, monitoring all data, and using SIC meetings, ensure all issues are actioned in timely fashion
· To identify and implement any opportunities for continuous improvement to efficiency, yield, quality or Health & Safety.
· Lead and manage a team of skilled Production Operatives and Team Leaders, planning labour to meet demand, proactively identifying and delivering essential training needs.
· Deliver compliance with hygiene, GMP and food safety standards
· Set and communicate the direction and vision of the business and function to the team.
· Delivery of projects and line improvement plans OTIF
· Have an active involvement in NPD projects which affect your role
· Oversee the planning of staff and machine time, to ensure both are maximised
Ideally experienced within a Food Manufacturing business using Food Safety and HSE excellence, the preferred candidate will have good numeracy & literacy skills with a strong skillset in using Microsoft Office and ERP Programmes and will lead by example in our Company values:
