PROJECT ENGINEER

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to business growth and expansion, reporting to head of Engineering, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join us in a new position to the company. Supporting the Project Manager with all engineering activities on assigned projects your duties will include:

· Support the project manager in the process from concept (scope, benefits, justification) through to completion to ensure that projects are successfully completed, and risks to the business are minimised.

· Ensure implementation of cross functional teams to communicate costs, benefits and risks as part of the project justification submission to key stakeholders, and to ensure that any project justification effectively communicates the rationale for technical design, equipment and vendor selection.

· Ensure successful handover of projects to owner with all necessary documentation in place and signed off.

· Ensure the successful execution of all approved projects in line with the JHC Ltd capital project management process.

· Ensure that actual spend for capital projects do not exceed the budget / forecast. Ensure the accurate phasing of capital project spend as part of the budget and period forecasting process.

· Develop the structural design of processes, equipment, and facility systems using drafting tools or CAD.

· Research, design, evaluate, install, operate and maintain processes, equipment, and facility systems to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles

· Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of engineering activities.

· Research technology and latest equipment developments to plan and assess the feasibility for designated projects.

· Review and recommend or approve contracts, quotations and cost estimates.

· Adheres to all company protocols, policies and procedures.

· Preparation of project engineering schedules and forecasts.

· Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables.

· Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.

. Participating in client/contractor meetings and resolving client/engineering and management project issues.

Knowledge/Qualifications/Skills required:

· Experience (2-4 years +) within an FMCG Environment

· Dairy Cheese Make experience (Effluent, Whey Processing Systems) would be advantageous

· People management experience, ideally through the leadership of teams.

· Capability to manage, influence and challenge key stakeholders

· Good team player with excellent communication skills and an ability to deliver results and manage change

· Resilient, accompanied by a strong work ethic and an ability to deliver projects to agreed deadlines

· Highly motivated and self-sufficient with a high level of energy and enthusiasm

· Either time served Mechanical / Electrical Engineer educated to HNC level or hold a recognised Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

· Project Management qualification by a recognized professional body, e.g. APM, APMG or PMI would be an advantage

· Detailed knowledge of the following systems are required:

o Computer Aided Design (CAD)

o MS Project

o MS Excel

o PLC’s & control systems

o Automation and control

o SCADA Systems

o Process pipework and systems

Salary: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
